Multiple Vulnerabilities Reported in the Android Operating System

The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT), which is part of the IT ministry, has issued a new alert for Android users. Users of Android 10, Android 11, Android 12, and Android 12L are subject to a high severity warning. According to the advisory, multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in the operating system has that can be exploited to gain elevated privileges, reveal sensitive information, and cause a denial of service on the targeted system.

The advisory further reveals “these vulnerabilities exist in the Android OS due to flaws in Framework Component, Media Framework Components, System Components, Kernel LTS, MediaTek components, Qualcomm components and Qualcomm closed source components.”

To stay safe, the CERT-in recommends that you update your smartphone’s Android OS to the latest version available. Go to the Settings app on your smartphone to check the latest version currently available.
