McAfee adds multi-factor authentication

by CIO AXIS

McAfee adds multi-factor authentication to all its 2016 antivirus security suites. McAfee’s product line include some helpful features for anyone who wants to lock down their entire device ecosystem. The revamped lineup includes the usual bundles: McAfee LiveSafe, McAfee AntiVirus Plus, McAfee Internet Security, and McAfee Total Protection.

The new security suites now work with Intel True Key, a multi-factor authentication app for added security at logins. (Intel owns McAfee.) The company is also extending its multi-device protection to all of its products, instead of just LiveSafe—the company’s complete security suite solution. That means if you get a subscription to any of the company’s security products you can also use them on your other devices, including Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS.

There’s also a new scanning feature that can check out all the devices connected to your home network to make sure they’re protected with McAfee security products.

Adapting to the times, McAfee is also adding security protection for Android Wear watches, while McAfee Web Advisor checks to make sure anti-virus and firewall are up.
