An official press release said ‘Cyber Hygiene for Cyber Space – Dos and Don’ts – Basic Manual’, ‘Cyber Hygiene for Cyber Space – Dos and Don’ts – Advanced Manual’ and the quarterly newsletter ‘Cyber Pravah’, are the manuals and newsletter prepared by the Cyber and Information Security Division (CIS) of the Indian Union home ministry.
As part of a drive to combat cybercrime, Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla released a set of manuals and a newsletter from the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) on Monday.
An official press release said ‘Cyber Hygiene for Cyber Space – Dos and Don’ts – Basic Manual’, ‘Cyber Hygiene for Cyber Space – Dos and Don’ts – Advanced Manual’ and the quarterly newsletter ‘Cyber Pravah’, are the manuals and newsletter prepared by the Cyber and Information Security Division (CIS) of the Indian Union home ministry.
The manuals are part of a focused awareness campaign aimed at preventing cybercrime and instilling cyber hygiene in rural communities, industrial bodies, and the general public.
‘CyberPravah’ covers introduction to I4C, various activities of I4C in two quarters (from April-June,2021 and July-September, 2021), cybercrime trends and patterns, statistics, facilities created by I4C, platforms for reporting and addressing cybercrimes to raise awareness amongst all stakeholders and provide assistance in the areas of cybercrime prevention, detection, and investigation.
According to the press release, it also intends to raise awareness of recent advancements in the field of cybercrime and cybercrime terminology.
In 2018, the I4C was established under the CIS division as an agency for coordinating at the central level and to support states and union territories in their battle against cybercrime by providing a common framework.
In the name of ‘CyberDost,’ the I4C is raising public awareness through various social media handles in the name of ‘CyberDost’ by providing cyber safety tips at regular intervals.
