Manish Pandey Appointed as CISO of Airtel Payments Bank

Manish Pandey, who previously worked at Paytm Payments Bank as Assistant General Manager-Cyber and Information Security, has been named Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Airtel Payments Bank.

Pandey will lead Airtel Payments Bank’s information and cybersecurity practice, reporting to the company’s Chief Risk Officer, Pradeep Rangi, according to a statement released by the digital payments firms.

Pandey will be responsible for introducing, implementing, and maintaining safe information security practices to boost the bank’s security framework, according to Airtel Payments Bank. Airtel Payments Bank added “He will also head the bank’s information security regulatory engagement, governance, and audit affairs,”

Pandey, a graduate of IIIT-Allahabad, has nearly 4.5 years of experience at Paytm Payments Bank handling digital banking and fintech cybersecurity. He joined the organization as Manager-Information and Cybersecurity in January 2018. In three years, he was promoted to Asst. GM-Cyber and Information Security.

Pandey was an active team member for the cybersecurity drill conducted by CERT-In for critical government organizations prior to his stint in the fintech space. He was also instrumental in the preparation and review of IT security auditing guidelines for auditee organizations in India. Pandey was also an active member of the Indo-US cybersecurity drill conducted by CERT-In and CERT-US.
