IBM Eager to Share its Knowledge in Cybersecurity & AI with K’taka Government

A high-level IBM team met with C. N. Ashwathnarayan, Minister for IT-BT, Science and Technology, at the Vikasa Soudha in Bengaluru on Tuesday, expressing interest in sharing knowledge in the areas of cyber security and Artificial Intelligence (AI) with the Karnataka government.

Sandip Patil, Managing Director, IBM South Asia, headed a three-member IBM delegation that assured the minister that IBM will help the government in developing a cyber-security policy.

During the discussion, Ashwathnarayan stated that the government would seek the IBM’s assistance in matters relating to cyber security.

Recently, Sandip Patil said IBM has opened a Security Command Centre in Bengaluru to strengthen the industry’s cyber resilience and capacity development. He said IBM will discuss the capabilities of the new facility with the government, including potential strategic collaboration avenues for developing effective cyber incident response, and that the company was willing to educate government personnel in this area if necessary.

Patil said that ensuring proper cyber security will be a difficult task in the coming days, and that it is critical to resolve the issue head on. He stated that IBM would offer the government with all necessary support in implementing a cyber-security policy.
