Dell Technologies expands Virtual Edge Platform family with VEP 1405 series

by CIO AXIS

Dell Technologies has recently launched its Dell EMC VEP1405 series, a solution that connects the enterprise to the edge via universal Customer Premise Equipment (uCPE), uniting branch locations to the cloud and complementing its larger VEP4600 predecessor.

The all new Dell EMC VEP1405 series is a part of the Dell EMC Virtual Edge Platform (VEP) family that expands the edge service delivery options and helps customers modernize network operations via universal Customer Premise Equipment (uCPE).

As a uCPE device, both service providers and enterprises can future-proof network operations and save on capital expenditures by shifting numerous, dedicated proprietary physical appliances to this single platform to host various virtual network functions (VNFs) such as software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN), firewall, deep-packet inspection and routing.

“In order to adapt to the rapidly changing dynamics of the IT landscape and to remain competitive, customers across the verticals have recognized the central role that the networking infrastructure plays within their IT transformation, said Manish Gupta, Sr. Director and General Manager, Infrastructure Solutions Group, Dell Technologies India.”

“With our all-new Dell EMC VEP1405 series, we committed to help our customers adopt the software-defined networking at the Edge while controlling their costs and enhancing their productivity. Dell EMC VEP1405 is an ideal solution for organizations and service providers who are looking to modernize operations for connecting branch locations to the WAN, reduce complexity and foster business impact.”

VEP1405 is now available worldwide.
