As part of efforts to bridge the skills gap and equip India’s workforce for a career in digital security, Microsoft announced a cybersecurity skilling programme on Tuesday with the aim of training over one lakh learners by 2022. According to a statement, the programme is designed to provide learners with hands-on experience in the fundamentals of security, compliance, and identification.
These courses will be delivered by Microsoft in collaboration with its strategic consortium of partners, which includes Cloudthat, Koenig, RPS, and Synergetics Learning, according to the company.
The course modules are designed to support learners at all levels, no matter where they are on their cybersecurity journey.
According to the statement, Microsoft has introduced four new security, compliance, and identity certifications, one of which, the accredited certification for fundamentals, will be provided free of charge to anyone who undertakes the associated training through this initiative.
Microsoft also offers learners drastically discounted offers on the rest of the advanced role-based certifications, in partnership with its partners, to drive deep skills for solving cybersecurity challenges, it noted.
This collaboration is an extension of Microsoft’s global skilling initiative, which aims to help 25 million individuals acquire new digital skills throughout the world. In India, almost 3 million individuals have been trained through this initiative.
Microsoft is collaborating with the government, industry, and civil society partners on a number of digital skilling initiatives.
