Biocon Appoints Agnidipta Sarkar as Group CISO

Sarkar has worked with multinational corporations for over three decades. His most recent role was Director – Cyber Security with CMS IT Services.

Agnidipta Sarkar, who is based in Bangalore, has been appointed as Group CISO by Biocon. Sarkar has left CMS IT Services, where he held the role of Director – Cybersecurity for two years.

Biocon is an Indian biopharmaceutical company headquartered in Bangalore, founded by Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw. Generic active pharmaceutical ingredients are manufactured by Biocon.

Sarkar will be in charge of the Biocon’s cybersecurity and risk management domains in his new position.

He has over three decades of experience in the field of cybersecurity. Sarkar has partnered with a variety of international firms, including CMS IT services, DXC Technologies, HPE, HP Inc., and others. He led the transformation of cybersecurity hygiene project and a few new-age digital security initiatives at CMS IT services as Director Cybersecurity. As India’s most dependable cybersecurity systems integrator, he also established a variety of cybersecurity activities to address the new challenges.

Sarkar also authored and released “Defensible Cybersecurity,” a modern approach to cybersecurity focused on ISO27001 and its family of standards, Lockheed Martin’s Cyber-Kill-Chain, NIST cybersecurity architecture, and DOE C2M2.
