Aster DM Healthcare has announced the appointment of Sreeni Venugopal as India Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Venugopal brings extensive experience in healthcare IT and cybersecurity to his new role. As CIO and CISO, he will be responsible for overseeing the digital transformation initiatives and ensuring robust information security practices within the organization. Venugopal’s appointment underscores the commitment to leveraging technology.

In his previous role, Venugopal was the Group CIO at KIMSHEALTH, where he was part of the executive management, and responsible for technology leadership, global IT strategy and end-to-end IT delivery. He had complete ownership of the technology portfolio and drove the development and implementation of the IT strategy, focusing on customer-centric health IT solutions. His portfolio included IT Applications, Projects, Infrastructure, Operations, IoT, Cloud, Business/Data Analytics, SAP and medical wearables. He was also responsible for enterprise-wide information security and data privacy programs, leading the development of strategy, processes, and guidelines.

With 28 years of global expertise in technology leadership, information security & privacy, digital transformation, cyber laws & contracts, IT strategy, and IT service delivery, Venugopal brings a wealth of experience to the table. He holds certifications in CISM and CEH and has hands-on experience across the entire cybersecurity spectrum, including security strategy, governance, risk & compliance, cyber-legal contracts, VAPT, threat hunting, and secure coding. His work has focused on protecting IT systems, ensuring compliance, reducing costs, and driving business benefits.
