Airtel Appoints Varun Singla as as SVP and CISO

Varun Singla has been appointed as SVP and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Airtel. Singla will drive next-generation cyber security initiatives while also contributing to Airtel’s continuous innovation and business growth in this new role. He will lead the cyber security teams and report to Pradipt Kapoor, Airtel’s Chief Information Officer (CIO).

Every product and service offered by Airtel has embedded security by design fundamentals. Singla will contribute to the IT legacy as the CISO and leverage his expertise in IT security, risk management, network security, data protection, and other areas. He will also spearhead cutting-edge cyber security initiatives and solutions while addressing industry trends, customer expectations, and business requirements.

Prior to joining Airtel, Singla was Vice President and Chief Security Officer at Micron Technology, based in the United States. He has about 18 years of experience in the field of cyber security. He is a seasoned cyber security leader who has worked for companies such as Veritas Technologies, Deloitte, and others.

Singla is a customer-focused CISO and business executive who has worked with companies to improve their security and business outcomes. He also has a track record of successfully establishing building sustainable and cost-effective security organizations that collaborate with business, IT, and engineering teams to address enterprise cybersecurity risks.
