by CIO AXIS

Infor and The Copley Consulting Group, today announced a new micro-vertical program specialized for the medical device industry. At the core of Infor Industrial Manufacturing for Medical Devices is Infor CloudSuite Industrial, which provides modern tools designed to help leading organizations bring products to market more quickly, as well as track and manage after-market maintenance and service.

Infor’s Micro-vertical Specialization Program for the Infor Partner Network aligns partners with micro-vertical markets to leverage the partners’ core competencies in specific industry segments, and includes the launch of a medical device-focused initiative with Copley. Using Infor solutions, Copley can address many of the nuances of this highly regulated industry. With Infor Mongoose, the team at Copley developed a specialized validation service and is poised to deliver a highly specific, pre-packaged solution to medical device manufacturers. The application addresses regulatory compliance, operational validation scripts, integrated electronic recordkeeping, GMP quality standards, and an implementation accelerator designed to help organizations deploy Infor’s solutions with reduced time, expense, complexity and risk.

“We are excited to expand our medical device practice in this formal fashion with longtime partner Infor. Our deep domain expertise is complemented by industry specific functionality that addresses the nuances of this particular medical device manufacturing market,” said Robert Lane, CEO, The Copley Consulting Group. “Infor’s alignment with Copley is validation of our collective goal of specialization by industry.”

Demand for healthcare is expected to increase as the baby-boomer generation ages, and with Infor Industrial Manufacturing for Medical Devices, organizations can get the tools needed need to meet demand while working to control costs. With a single system, users can track the movement of materials and parts from receipt to shipping, and the underlying architecture of Infor CloudSuite Industrial allows customers the option to deploy either in the cloud or on premise. Users can trace lots and serial numbers in the event of recalls, record the history of devices leading to product improvements, and track customer complaints and help desk interactions.

“Medical device manufacturers, suppliers, and service contractors continue to face a complex and changing regulatory environment affecting the development, manufacture, inspection, sale, and maintenance of products,” said Mark Humphlett, industry strategy director, Industrial Manufacturing, Infor. “The combination of the Infor CloudSuite Industrial functionality, the versatility of the Infor Mongoose toolset, the collaborative nature of Infor Ming.le, the operational validation scripts created by Copley, which can be used to assist with FDA certification, and the overall industry expertise of Copley – is designed to deliver a useful solution for this important micro-vertical.”
