This exciting international conference highlights how emerging markets like India have become the drivers of innovation in Cloud Computing and are leading the way for the rest of the world”

CCEM 2014 is the third successive conference hosted by India which was first initiated in the year 2012 with an objective to serve as a single platform to bring together industry and academic experts from across the world. Speaking about the significance of the event, Kathy Grise, Senior Program Director, Future Directions – IEEE Technical Activities said, “With the third annual IEEE CCEM, we are very fortunate to have an excellent and full program. One of the goals achieved was to hold this event in the heart of Bangalore to make it more accessible and provide a forum for learning, networking, and building relationships common to the Cloud”. The summit has lined-up eminent international speakers from IT majors Accenture, Amazon, Cisco, EMC, Google, HP, IBM, IEEE, Nokia, and SAP among many others who will deliver keynote talks on the latest in cloud technology. Around twenty-five Indian and international researchers will present peer-reviewed technical papers while the doctoral symposium will introduce some of the latest research topics in cloud computing. The event is also set to host tutorials and a student competition on cutting edge cloud technology and application. A panel session is also on the agenda with subject matter experts across academia, industry and government.

Cloud computing has emerged as a paradigm for transformation in information technology over the last few years and is beginning to fundamentally influence the way business is conducted in a multitude of industries such as government, finance, telecommunications, education, retail, energy, utilities, and transportation. Recent studies indicate that more than 50 % of the evolution in IT in the next five years will be around cloud computing. Research is progressing by the minute in varied related fields including virtualization, networking, storage, security, management of cloud services, efficient cloud architectures, massive multi-tenancy, hybrid environments, and design of cloud applications and services. This transformation has great implications for emerging markets which have the potential to leap frog mature markets in their adoption of cloud computing, combine cloud computing and mobile technologies to introduce unique services that can transform the lives of billions, drive a much larger scale of adoption and challenge existing price points, while presenting unique challenges in areas such as security and user interfaces to cloud computing.
