Nvidia, U.S Chipmaker is Looking into a Possible Cyberattack

by CISOCONNECT Bureau

Following a news report that the cyberattack may have put parts of its business offline for two days, US chipmaker Nvidia Corp said on Friday it was examining a potential cyberattack.

The Telegraph reported earlier last week on Friday that a malicious network breach caused outages in Nvidia’s email systems and developer tools during the last two days, but said that it was unclear whether any data was stolen or deleted.

Nvidia said in a statement “We are investigating an incident. Our business and commercial activities continue uninterrupted,”

“We are still working to evaluate the nature and scope of the event and don’t have any additional information to share at this time.”

Nvidia is the most valuable chipmaker in the United States, with a market capitalization of about $600 billion. It’s recognised for its Graphics Processing Units (GPUs), which improve videogaming experiences and advanced computer simulations.
