The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has ordered an immediate investigation into the case of the MobiKwik’s leakage of crucial information pertaining to millions of users. According a media report, the RBI has taken the data breach case very seriously and has ordered Mobikwik to to get the matter probed by a certified forensic auditor immediately.
Last month, an Indian security researcher announced on Twitter that 110 million MobiKwik customers’ data had been stolen from the company’s servers. On March 4, MobiKwik refuted the allegation, claiming that no security flaws had been discovered and that its legal team would take “strict action against this so-called researcher.”
MobiKwik announced on Tuesday that it is looking into the matter after some other users said the data breach appeared to be real.
