What’s the IT roadmap of T V Sundram Iyengar?. Within your organisation what is the most significant digital achievement of the past 12 months?

TVS is embracing technology in a big way. As part of this exercise, 2019-20 has seen significant infra consolidation and adoption of Cloud, where all the infrastructure has been migrated from On-prem to Cloud to accommodate dynamic business needs for easy ramp up/down, to enable faster penetration and product rollout in the market, which in turn helps revenue increase and customer experience.

What are the technologies that will characterize the next phase of digital transformation at T V Sundram?

What are the technologies that will characterize the next phase of digital transformation at T V Sundram?
As part of the next phase of digital transformation, heavy focus is emphasized in the area of IOT and Data analytics, to harness value from the data available within the organization, in addition to the data generated from the IOT platform.

Since insiders have more access to information, what kind of processes do you have in place to prevent unauthorized use of information? How is T V Sundram’s cyber security strategy going forward?

Currently, limited processes and peripheral controls of access to the information is implemented. We have plans to strengthen this area with more tools and controls in the 2nd half of the year, towards completion of the previous digital transformation initiatives.

With your rich experience of steering technology, can you please share some of the unique lessons learned?

Several unique lessons during this journey, just to name a few:

• Adoption to latest technology requires an open mindset to unlearn and learn the processes, with flexibility to change the way we work in a traditional manner v/s the future working culture
• Focus on operations based on data research, rather than traditional human approach dependency
• Change management and skill management to adopt to newer technologies
• Each initiative being weighed in terms of RoI, Revenue generation feasibility, Customer experience, Productivity enhancement etc.., prior to deployment selection
