Sharad Sadadekar, former Senior Vice President and Group CISO at HDFC Life, has joined ICICI Prudential Life Insurance as the company’s head of cybersecurity.
Sadadekar said his new team will include two CISOs who will be responsible of the insurance company’s overall cybersecurity, data protection, and cloud security.
On his LinkedIn page, the cybersecurity veteran says he looks back on his 21-year stint at HDFC Life with “deep emotions, nostalgia, pride and satisfaction of having spent this time with such a great institution.”
Sadadekar joined HDFC Life in 2003 as a technical specialist. He was promoted to the position of CISO and AVP – Information Technology seven years later. He was responsible for providing strategic technology-enabled business solutions in this position.
Sadadekar was appointed as Senior Vice President and Head of Cybersecurity at the insurance giant in 2019. Sadadekar formerly worked at CMS Computers Ltd. and Blue Bell Computer LLC before joining HDFC Life.
Sharad has led information and cybersecurity programs in the areas of cybersecurity maturity and benchmarking, policy, next gen SOC, threat visibility and hunting, IAM, IT Governance, crisis planning and response, software and regulatory compliance, third party risk management, cloud security, BCP, and cyber insurance among others, during his more than two decades of experience.
