Barracuda intends to acquire Skout Cybersecurity in order to provide MSPs with the technology and manpower they need to better respond to cyberthreats.
Barracuda revealed that its proposed acquisition of Skout Cybersecurity will assist MSPs collect and correlate threat data and respond to incidents. Skout provides MSPs with an eXtended Detection and Response (XDR) platform as well as a 24-hour Security Operations Center (SOC).
The acquisition’s terms were not disclosed, but it is likely to conclude in the coming weeks. All of Skout’s more than 80 staff members will be transferred to Barracuda’s MSP division, with Kehoe remaining as General Manager of Skout products and reporting to Brian Babineau, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Barracuda MSP.
